The length of a rectangle is 5 feet more than twice the width. The perimeter is 28 feet. Find the length and width

Width = 3 feet

Length = 11 feet

Explanation:

Let the width be x feet.

Length = 2x + 5

Perimeter = 28 feet

2 * ( length + width ) = 28

2 * (2x + 5 + x) = 28

3x + 5 = 28/2 = 14

3x = 14 - 5 = 9

x = 9/3

x = 3

Width = 3 feet

Length = 2*3 + 5 = 6 + 5 = 11 feet
