The terror reign was initiated to protect the French Revolution government and to overthrow the rule of Girondins.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Robespierre led the radical groups called the Jacobins and it was also under the control of the Committee Public Safety.
  • This reign ensure that the citizens should not oppose the revolutions of the government.
  • Also, it stats that anyone who was suspected of being against the revolution would be arrested and tried by the revolutionary tribunal.
  • And if the suspect is found to be guilty he will be imprisoned or sentenced to the jail.
  • This makes people in fear and aware of the revolution and this act doesn't protect the people instead, it is giving a burden to society.
