It's important to stand up for what you believe in because if you don't, people will never understand.
About a couple weeks ago, I came out as non-binary to my mother, and she asked me why...."because I feel comfortable that way..." I said. Then, she retaliated with "Well, if a guy was watching child p### on his computer, should we accept him for who he is because he's 'comfortable'? No." Of course, this was no where related to the topic at hand. I had to explain to her what it meant, and now she is trying to get use to the new changes.
