In order to solve the formula

C=\pi d

in terms of d, you simply have to divide both sides by pi:

d=(C)/(\pi)

The total height of the earring is the sum of the diameters of the circles. Given their circumferences, the diameters are

d_1=(6)/(\pi),\quad d_2=(8)/(\pi)

So, the total height is

h=d_1+d_2=(6)/(\pi)+(8)/(\pi)=(14)/(\pi)
