It really isn't that hard. Don't let the other variables confuse you. First get everything else on one side. So, subtract 9x from w. You can't really do that, so you just leave it as w-9x.

Then you are left with w-9x=5y. This is like a 2-step equation. So divide 5 on both sides. Doing this leaves you with w-9x/5=y.
