The manager of a concert venue is adding up the proceeds from a Friday night show. Tickets sold for $8, $10, and $12 depending on where the seats were. Twice as many $8 seats were sold as $10, and 10 more $12 seats were sold than $10. The total proceeds were $3,122. How many of each type of ticket were sold?

Answer:

Total number $10 ticket = 79

Total number of $8 ticket = 2x = 2×79 = 158

Total number of $12 ticket = x+10 = 79+10 =89

Step-by-step explanation:

We have given that there are three tickets available of Rs $8 , $10 and $12

Let x $10 tickets are sold

Then according to question

Number of $8 ticket sold = 2x

And number of $12 tickets sold = x+10

We have given total proceeds = $3122

So
10x+(8* 2x)+12* (x+10)=3122

10x+16x+12x+120=3122

38x=3002

x = 79

So total number $10 ticket = 79

Total number of $8 ticket = 2x = 2×79 = 158

Total number of $12 ticket = x+10 = 79+10 =89
