Using Substition method

x=4-y

(4-y)+2y=6

4-y+2y=6

-y+2y=6-4

y=2

input the value y=2 into x=4-y

x=4-2

x=2

To check if you are right

Since x=2 and y=2

x+y=4

2+2=4

x+2y=6

2+(2×2)=6
