Why does dissolved oxygen decrease with depths in lakes?

well firstly, the solubility of oxygen DECREASES as the temperate INCREASES. meaning that warmer surface water surface water requires much less dissolved oxygen to reach 100% then that of deeper cooler water. In short, the deeper and colder the water the more the solubility decreases as a result of hydrostatic pressure
