Answer:

Yellow = x sweets

Blue = x + 15 sweets

Total number of sweets
=(10x+75)/(3)

Explanation:

A bag contains sweets of three different colours: orange, blue and yellow. It is given that

  • (2)/(5) of the sweets are orange, then
    (3)/(5) of the sweets are blue and yellow;
  • there are 15 more blue sweets than yellow sweets.

Let x be the number of yellow sweets, then x + 15 is the number of blue sweets.

In total, there are x + x + 15 = 2x + 15 blue and yellow sweets.This number of sweets is exactly
(3)/(5) of all sweets, so there are

(5(2x+15))/(3)=(10x+75)/(3) sweets in total.
