The width is 8cm and the length is 20cm.
Explanation: The length is 12 more than the width so the equation is l=12+w and Perimeter equation is P=2l +2w. You substitute l and plug in the equation.
56=2(12+w) +2w
56=24+4w
32=4w
w=8
l = 12+8=20
