Your grade on your first test was x. If you score 10 more percentage points on your second test than on your first test, what will be the average on the two tests? Write the expression to show your average on the two tests.

Answer:

(x+1,1x)2=average

Explanation:

We know the second test is ten porcent higher than the firt and we can represent the second as an expression of the first

Lets say 1 represent 100% and thats the porcent in the first test

Then 1,1 represent 110% and thats second test in terms of the first test

The average is (test1+test2)2=average

Test1=x

Test2=110%x=1,1x

The expression is

(x+1,1x)/2=average
