Some of the native Burmese pythons of South and South-East Asia were transported to the U.S.A as a rare species. Unaware of its large species and growth many people adopted them as pet. It led to a large breeding issue in Florida and now it has become a great threat to the biodiversity of Florida.

However, by the Lacey Act of Florida officials the transportation of the pythons were banned. They were trapped and killed too. But these methods however, have failed to decrease the population.
