The hypothesis were correct because at the beginning Lamont wanted to compare how it will look objects in different liquids. Also he thought that if the liquid was thicker (like glycerin) the objects will look larger.

Testing different liquids from the thicker to the thinner (glycerin, water, alcohol) his results were similar to the initial hypotesis that he state.
