What is the area of a square if the side length is (2x - 5) inches? What is the area when x = 7?

First, solve the equation: (2x-5)= (2*7-5)=9
Now that you know the side length, all you have to do is calculate: area of square= side squared, so it’s 9 squared.
Answer: 81
