Rearrange so that it is in the standard y = mx + c form

5x - 4y = 20

+4y to both sides

5x = 20 + 4y

-20 from both sides

5x - 20 = 4y

Divide both sides by 4 to isolate y:

y = 5/4x - 5

In this format the 'm' is the slope and the 'c' is the y intercept

Thus, the slope is 5/4 and the y intercept is -5
