Ms. Barran loves reading. I realized 74.4 pages of my book for two hours. If I read at the same rate for the next five hours. How many pages did I read altogether?

74.4/ 2 = 37.2

So, she read 37.2 pages in one hour.

37.2*5 = 186.

186 + 74.4 = 260.4.

So, in the 7 hours she read, she read 260.4 pages.

ANSWER:

Barran read 260.4 pages altogether in the time of 7 hours.

SOLUTION:

Given, that barran read 74.4 pages in two hours.

So, number of pages read by barran in one hour =
(74.4)/(2) = 37.2

Then, after reading for five more hours, number of pages covered in that span of five hours is given as

= Number of pages read in one hour * number of hours

= 37.2 * 5 = 186

So, Barran read 186 pages in next 5 hours

Now, total pages read = pages read in first two hours + pages read in next five hours

Total pages read = 74.4 + 186 = 260.4 pages

Hence, Barran read 260.4 pages altogether in the time of 7 hours.
