Ethan is giving a lecture to a class of 60 students. He asks the students an open-ended question, then divide them into ten subgroups with six students each to discuss the question for five minutes. After five minutes, he calls on each group to summarize its discussion. Which problem-solving format did Ethan use?

Answer: Break out groups

Explanation: Breakout groups are the collection of small groups or cluster that is made from breaking a large group .The breakout groups are assigned with the certain tasks rather than assigning the activity to whole group at once.

The task is perform by the attendees present in every group and then get collaborated .This helps in sharing the information, application, programs, files etc. Ethan is also using this learning strategy for the students so that lecture could be understood easily through discussion and summarization.
