Expand the second set of parenthesis

2(-6x - 1) = -12x -2

Collect like terms

3x - 5 = -12x - 2

Add 12x to both sides:

15x - 5 = -2

Add 5 to both sides:

15x = 3

Divide both sides by 15

x = 1/5

Isolate the variable by dividing each side by factors that don't contain the variable.The answer would be C. 1/5
