Answer:

The value of (f+g) x=
x^(2)+3 x-2+1

Solution:

From question given that f(x)=3x-2 --- eqn 1(1)

And
g(x)=x^(2)+1 --- eqn 2

We need to calculate (f+g)x

Since (f+g)x=f(x)+g(x) --- eqn (3)

On substituting the value of f(x) and g(x) in equation (3) using equation (1) and (2),

(f+g) x=3 x-2+x^(2)+1

Rewrite the above term,

(f+g) x=x^(2)+3 x-1

On simplifying the above term,

(f+g) x=x^(2)+3 x-1

Hence value of (f+g) x=
x^(2)+3 x-2+1
