Answer:

The numbers are 46 and 32

Solution:

Let us assume the numbers are x and y.

One number is 14 less than another,

so
x-14=y …………. (i)

If their sum is increased by 7, the result is 85

So,
x+y+7=85

\Rightarrow x+y=78

\Rightarrow x+x-14=78 (//substituting value from (i))

\Rightarrow 2 x=92

\Rightarrow x=46

So,
y=(46-14)=32

The numbers are 46 and 32.

X + (X - 14) + 7 = 85

2x - 7 = 85

2x = 92

X = 46

Now, 36 - 14 = 32

Therefore, the numbers are 46 and 32.
