Immigration Act was the law that prohibited immigration which mostly happened from British India, South East Asia which included china and Pacific islands. US also prohibited immigration for the people who are mentally challenged, drug addicts and rebels.
US also ordered a basic literacy and knowledge test which was in the immigrant’s native language. Each individual was imposed with Entrance Tax which the immigrants are supposed to pay before entering United States.
Woodrow Wilson initially disallowed this act, but congress overran the prohibition and made it a federal law in 1917.
