Hey there!

10 = 6y

6y = 10

DIVIDE 6 to BOTH SIDES

6y/6 = 10/6

CANCEL out: 6/6 because it gives you 1

KEEP: 10/6 because it help solve for the y-value

NEW EQUATION: y = 10/6

y = 10 ÷ 2 / 6 ÷ 2

y = 5/3

Therefore, your answer is: y = 5/3

Basically you had to DIVIDE 6 to BOTH SIDES

Good luck on your assignment & enjoy your day!
