Remeber to always use PEMDAS.

1. (3 + 5) / x = 4 - We do the addition in the parenthesis first.

2. 8 / x = 4 - We now want to find what x means, to do this we divide the answers by the number we already have.

3. 8 / 4 = 2 - Now we can do the initial equation with the number we found to test it.

4. 8 / 2 = 4 - Simple as that :)
