It is said that Native Americans living on reservations are living in nations within a nation. This is true in the sense that they are given many of the same rights as a sovereign nations. However, it is a form of limited sovereignty. Think about the advantages and the disadvantages of having limited sovereignty. This does provide them with a great way to manage their own traditions and cultures.

For example, they can teach their native languages in schools, have their own national holidays celebrating their past and feel safe in their own environment.

Currently, they are popularly known for having casinos, something that is not legal in most states. This brings in a lot of tourists and generates revenue for these reservations.
