a. Calculate the sum of all the coins combined = 5 + 4 + 5 + 2 =16. Then put the nickels over the sum = 4/16 = 1/4 = 0.25 = 25%

b. Add the new coins to the sum = 4/20 = 1/5 = 0.20 = 20%

c. She is more likely to draw a nickel in scenario A.

Answer:

Explanation:

Total no of coins in the bag
= 5+4+5+2 =16

a) the probability that she will draw a nickel=no of nickels/total coins

=
(4)/(16) =0.25

If one penny, two dimes and one quarter added then we have total coins new as =
16+1+2+1 = 20

the

new probability that Marissa will draw a nickel= new nickel coins/new total

=
(4+0)/(20) =0.20

IN the first situation there is more likely as probability is more.
