15 Points Urgent Help

Does anyone know how to solve this? if so, id like an explanation on how this is solved, please and thank you.

Given f(x)=2x+1 and g(x) =X^2+2x-1, find (f+g) (x) and find (f-g)(x). Then evaluate the sum when x=2

( PS: I was also given this formula or something. Not sure.)
Sum: (f+g)(x)=f(x)+g(x)
Difference: (f-g)(x)=f(x)-g(x)
