Answer:
The articles of the confederation was the first constitution of USA. It was approved by the second continental congress in November 1777. The articles formed a war time confederation of states with limited power to the central government. It also provided the procedures for the congress to work. But there were lots of issues with the articles, two important issues were that the central government was not provided with the power to collect taxes to fund its operations and the articles only had one chamber and each state had one vote. These two issues were important because due to inability to collect taxes central government was unable to get funds for maintaining an effective military or to back its paper currency. It was dependent on the states for getting funds. Having one chamber of congress and granting one vote to each state allowed the states to act independently from the central government. Both of these weakened the coordination between the central government and the states and weakened United States.
