Andre has 45 sheets of paper and needs to buy more. A store has 5 reams of paper, and

ream contains 500 sheets of paper. The number of sheets of paper Andre has after
purchasing x reams is represented by a function.
f(x) = 500x + 45
What is the practical domain of the function?
all real numbers from 1 to 5, inclusive
all integers from 1 to 5, inclusive
all real numbers
{545. 1045, 1545, 2045, 2545}

Answer:

"all integers from 1 to 5, inclusive"

Explanation:

Domain is the set of x values (input) can makes the function defined.

Thus, we need to find which values can we put into the function, so that the output is valid.

Now,

f(x) = 500x + 45

This tells us that there are initially "45" sheets and more can be modeled using "500x" which says that x reams multiplied by 500 sheets per ream.

So , we understand that x is the number of ream of paper available.

Looking at the problem, we see that the store has 5 reams of paper.

Hence, the domain can be 1 ream, 2 ream...5ream

So, that 1 to 5, inclusive (integers, not real numbers)
