PLEASE HELP 20 POINTS

So I had this experiment where I have to separate several substances from a mixture. One was separating iron filings from sand and the next question was:

Why might this be important on an industrial scale?

Because the iron in the sand gives the sand a different weight than needed. a lot of people either just need the iron or the sand when mixed it gives the wrong outcome of what was needed.
