Five years is an eternity if you want to compare almost any type of current product versus its older version. If you want to buy a newer version of any type of technological product, you must do some external research like google digital cameras and see what's new.

For example, technology advances so rapidly now, that cellphone companies like Samsung have different versions of their cellphones available twice a year now.

The same happens to most products, even 5 years for something as expensive as a car is too long right now.

One last thing, who buys digital cameras right now? Probably since the release of the iPhone (12 years ago) the digital camera market has been reduced only to professional users.
