More than 370 students went on a field trip. Twelve buses were filled and 10 more students traveled in a car. Let the variable x represent the number of students on each bus. In the first blank, write a linear inequality to represent this situation (no spaces). Solve the inequality to determine how many students can fit on a bus. Write your solution as a an inequality using x in the second blank.

Answer:

370= 12x +10 30 students can fit on a bus

Explanation:

12x+10= 370

-10 -10

12x= 360

/12 /12

x=30

Answer:

The inequality becomes:
12x+10> 370

Explanation:

Let the variable x represent the number of students on each bus.

So, in 12 buses there are 12x students.

The inequality becomes:
12x+10> 370

So, to know how many students will fit in a bus, we will solve the inequality.

12x+10> 370

=>
12x > 370-10

=>
12x> 360

Dividing both sides by 12;

We get x > 30

There were more than 30 students in each bus.
