Answer:

y - 19 = 2(x - 5)

Explanation:

The equation of a line in point- slope form is

y - b = m(x - a)

where m is the slope and (a, b) a point on the line

Calculate m using the slope formula

m = (y₂ - y₁ ) / (x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (5, 19) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (- 5, - 1)

m =
(-1-19)/(-5-5) =
(-20)/(-10) = 2

We can use either of the 2 points as a point on the line

Using (a, b) = (5, 19), then

y - 19 = 2(x - 5) ← in point- slope form
