Answer:

Coinciding

Explanation:

Two lines
a_1x+b_1y=c_1 and
a_2x+b_2y=c_2 are called,

(i) Parallel,

(a_1)/(a_2)=(b_1)/(b_2)\\eq (c_1)/(c_2)

(i) Coincides,

(a_1)/(a_2)=(b_1)/(b_2)= (c_1)/(c_2)

Here, lines are,

2y−34=8x ⇒ 8x - 2y = -34

y−4x=17 ⇒ -4x + y = 17

\because (8)/(-4)=(-2)/(1)=(-34)/(17)=-2

Hence, lines are coincides.

Note : Coincides lines can not perpendicular.
