An object traveling along the x-axis has a velocity of 2.0 m/s from 0 to 4.0 s, 0 m/s from 4.0 to 6.0 s, -2.0 m/s from 6.0 to 8.0 s, and 4.0 m/s from 8.0 to 10 s. What is the average velocity of the object from 0 to 10 s?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

object travelling with 2 m/s from 0 to 4 s

0 m/s from 4 to 6 s

-2 m/s from 6 to 8 s

4 m/s from 8 to 10 s

Average velocity
=(Displacement )/(time)

Also v-t graph displacement can be figured out

therefore displacement
=2* 4+0-2* 2+4* 2=12 m

average velocity
=(12)/(10)=1.2 m/s

An object traveling along the x-axis has a velocity of 2.0 m/s from 0 to 4.0 s, 0 m-example-1
