Answer:

-2x^(2) +8x-1

Explanation:

Hello, I think I can help you with this

Step 1

let's remember some properties:

sign product

(+)*(+)=(+)\\(+)*(-)=(-)\\(-)*(+)=(-)\\(-)*(-)=(+)

Step 2

when you add similar terms you must be sure to add terms with the same variable (x) and the same exponent

let

-3x^(2) +4x-1-(-x^(2) -4x)\\-3x^(2) +4x-1-(1)*(-x^(2) )+(-1)*(-4x)\\-3x^(2) +4x-1+x^(2) +4x\\organize\ and\ combine\ similar\ terms\\\\-3x^(2) +x^(2) +4x+4x-1\\-2x^(2) +8x-1

I hope it helps, have a great day

Combine the like terms.

-3x^2 - (-x^2) = -3x^2 + x^2 = -2x^2

4x - (-4x) = 4x +4x = 8x

The difference would be: -2x^2 + 8x - 1
