Answer:

Lot of alliterative words are used in the bells by Poe. The words like time, tinkle, bells, tale of terrors, higher, frantic fire, clang and clash, tolling and knells are alliterative in nature. The author uses these alliterative sounds to make the poem more attractive in order to ensure that the readers are engrossed in the poem. The poet also gives meaning to the context of the poem with the help of these alliterative sounds.
