From the basic relation between two sets A and B we have


n(A\cup B)=n(A)+n(B)-n(A\cap B)

Since it is given that


n(A\cup B)=50


n(B)=32


n(A\cap B)=17

Applying the given values in the above relation we get


50=n(A)+32-17\\\\\therefore n(A)=50-32+17\\\\\therefore n(A)=35
