Answer: The difference between the bridge device and switch device of ethernet technology are as follows:

  • A ethernet bridge is a device that separates the domain of collision whereas ethernet's switch device has numerous port in the form of ethernet's bridge.
  • Bridge creates linkage between the two local area networks(LAN) whereas switch works for the data packet switching between the network.
  • Bridges are based on the software technology for their working while hardware technology is used by the switches as their working base.
