5(x + y) = 20 + 3x​

5x+5y=20+3x (distribution)

-3x -3x (alike terms)

2x+5y=20

/2x /2x

5y=20/2x

/5 /5

y=20 (idk I put it in my calculator)

if that looks nothing like the correct answer just put 0 for x and solve from there

5(0)= 0, so

5y=20 (because the three also has an x which we are putting as zero)

divide 20 by 5 and get 4

I'm really sorry if this is wrong it's been a long day

2x+5y=20
2x+5y-2x=20-2x
5y=-2x+20
5y/5=-2x/5+20/5
y=-2/5x+4

ANSWER: y=-2/5x+4
