1.16 times a skier's height h (in centimeters). Identify a compound inequality that represents the heights (in centimeters) of skiers the shop does not provide skis

Answer:

h > 189.66\ cm or
h< 129.31\ cm

Explanation:

Let

h ----> a skier's height in centimeters

we know that

A ski shop sells skis with lengths ranging from 150 centimeters to 220 centimeters

The interval of the skis is -----> [150,220]

The compound inequality that represents the heights (in centimeters) of skiers the shop does not provide skis is

1.16h > 220\ cm ----> inequality A

or

1.16h< 150\ cm ----> inequality B

Solve inequality A

1.16h > 220\ cm

Divide by 1.16 both sides

h > 189.66\ cm

Solve inequality B

1.16h< 150\ cm

Divide by 1.16 both sides

h< 129.31\ cm

therefore

h > 189.66\ cm or
h< 129.31\ cm
