You make a purchase at a local hardware store, but what you've bought is too big to take home in your car. For a small fee, you arrange to have the hardware store deliver your purchase for you. You pay for your purchase, plus the sales taxes, plus the fee. The taxes are 7.5% and the fee is $20. Let x represents the total purchase amount without taxes and fees.

Answer: The amount with taxes and fees is
1.075x+20

Explanation:

Let the total purchase amount without taxes and fees be 'x'.

Rate of taxes = 7.5%

Amount of fees = $20

so, According to question, it becomes,

(7.5)/(100)* x\\\\=0.075x

So, Amount after tax becomes

x+0.075x\\\\=1.075x

Amount after fees becomes

1.075x+20

Hence, the amount with taxes and fees is
1.075x+20
