The width = w

The length = w +25

Area = Length x width

Area = W * (w+25)

Use the distributive property:

Area = w^2 +25w

For this case we have that by definition, the area of a rectangle is given by:

A = w * l

Where:

w: It is the width

l: It is the length of the rectangle

According to the data we have to:

l = 25 + w

So:

A = w (25 + w)

We apply distributive property:

A = 25w + w ^ 2

So, the area is
( w ^ 2 + 25w) ft ^ 2

Answer:

w ^ 2 + 25w
