A computer technician charges a flat base fee plus an hourly rate for all repairs. Last year, she used the formula to determine the cost in dollars, y, of a repair that required x hours of work. If she doubles her base fee this year, what equation should she use to determine the new cost of an x-hour repair?

Answer: 2x + base fee =y

Explanation:

Well the original equation before the doubling would be the base fee + x = y so all you have to do is double that. :)
