Matt Cutts says that the more challenges he did and the harder they were, the more his self-confidence grew. Why do you think this is? Wouldn't it be better to do easier challenges that you knew you could do well? Why try difficult challenges?

Harder challenges bring the best out of us as it requires tremendous efforts to overcome them.

Harder challenges conditioned our brain to look at the situation or circumstances in a different way to tackle them firmly. It develops rational thinking and elevates one from the rest. While easy challenges mold us to find the comfort zone in any situation and therefore it prohibits one's growth.
