Hello!

First thing we can do is open up the parenthesis. As this is all multiplication, there is no issue with just opening up the parenthesis as multiplication can be done in any order.

(2.6 \cdot 10^5)(1.9\cdot 10^2)

2.6 \cdot 10^5 \cdot 1.9\cdot 10^2

Now, according to the product of powers rule, when two exponents are multiplied with the same base, you can add together the exponent. Do this with
10^2 \text{ and } 10^5.

10^2 \cdot 10^5 = 10^(2+5) = 10^7

Now, put that back in the equation. All we have to do from here is multiply the numbers without an exponent together. Scientific notation is when there is one number, with one digit to the left of the decimal point and the others to the right (ex. 1.34, 6.342). It is also then shown as being multiplied by a power of 10.

2.6 \cdot 1.9\cdot 10^7

4.94\cdot 10^7

Therefore, your final answer is 4.94 * 10^7, or, written in LaTeX,
4.94 \cdot 10^7.

Hope this helps!
