There are many methods in solving this percentage equation, but this is by far my favorite. Here is how it works.

1.Take 160, the original amount. 160

2.Then take the percent amount .25

and convert into decimal. ---------------------

3. Multiply the numbers 40.00

4. Subtract the product from 160

original amount, 160. - 40

$120

That is how I would get my answer. I am very sorry if the formatting messes up, but it is this basic problem: 160*.25=40.00 then 160-40=120

Multiply 160 by .25 to find the amount taken off ($40), and then subtract from the total to find the amount that you will be paying ($120).
