Explanation:

The denominators will stay the same because they are like denominators so we have to now look at the numerators

so we have -2+5 . Remember when the signs are different we subtract and use the sign of the bigger number so when you subtract the two number you get 3 and you uses the sign of the bigger number which is 5 and it is positive so 2 also stays positive. so now your answer is 2/5. look at the attachment to see how I plotted.

Never mind I can't attach so plot the 2nd line from 0 because it will go as 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5 / 5/5 which can also be written as 1
