Answer: It allows you to see and understand things we could have not seen without it.

Explanation: For example, we have known for thousands of years that viruses had infected us and caused disease. Although we didn't exactly know how they operated without the invention of items like the microscope which has allowed us to be able to cure viruses and figure out how smaller organisms work.
