While information systems can be used to gain a strategic advantage, they have inherent risks. Hershey Foods, for example, crippled its Halloween sales when its complex IS system failed to support its supply and inventory needs during peak production season. This is an example of which specific IS risk?

Answer: Poor implementation of IS

Explanation: When the implementation of the information system is poor then there are high chances of error in the system. The information system is mostly made from the already existing system. The case in the question is of bad implementation and thus, it failed and gained complexity during the peak season of production.

While the implementation of the IS takes place the assurity about it's operation, function, system design, quality etc should be made.Due to poor implementation the functioning can get cripples or even information system might not work completely in some case.
