AH HELP! I dont know what literary theme is please explain it and I swear if anyone puts "In contemporary literary studies, a theme is a central topic a text treats. Themes can be divided into two categories: a work's thematic concept is what readers "think the work is about" and its thematic statement being "what the work says about the subject". Themes are often distinguished from premises" im going to slam my head on the key board. Just please explain it better and break it down for me.

Answer:

Literary theme is the central message. The central message is what the author wants you to learn, maybe the author wabts you to learn something about life and it is a lesson that must be inferred not the narrator clearly stating in the story.
